Job description for the Steward(ess)

Reporting toThe Chief Stewardess
ObjectiveTo assist the chief Stewardess in achieving the safe, secure and efficient operation of the yacht.
Required QualificationsBasic Safety STCW
SubstitutesSecond or other Stewardesses

The Stewardess has the following duties and responsibilities:

  • To learn, understand and apply the Yacht Procedures, SOLAS Training Manual, Captain’s Standing Orders.
  • To participate actively to safety trainings organised by the Chief Officer/Safety Officer.
  • Cleaning and preparing of the Interior and general crew areas as instructed.
  • Assisting in the galley and mess areas when required.
  • Limited preparation of food and beverages in pantry and bar areas.
  • To receive and follow training provided in food and personal hygiene and food handling and storage.
  • Serving at table.
  • Laundry duties.
  • Assist the safe mooring operation as requested by the Captain or the Chief Officer.
