Drug and Alcohol Policy

This policy applies to all vessels managed by Yachting Concept Monaco. It prohibits the misuse of prescribed and non-prescribed drugs, requires crew to remain fit for duty at all times, sets clear rules on alcohol consumption, and allows unannounced testing. The Master is responsible for monitoring alcohol consumption on board. Breaches of the rules may result in immediate dismissal.
1. Prescribed drugs
- Misuse of prescribed drugs and possession or use of non-prescribed drugs are strictly prohibited.
- Personnel taking prescribed medication must declare this to the Master when joining the vessel, or immediately if prescribed during service on board.
- A vessel’s Master who is taking prescribed medication must notify the Company before taking command, or as soon as such medication is prescribed while on duty.
2. Crew members’ responsibilities
Each crew member is responsible for remaining competent and capable to perform all routine and emergency duties at any time, and for complying with Company requirements and on-board rules relating to drugs and alcohol.
3. Company/Owner requirements
- On-board rules applicable to the vessel must be clearly communicated so that each crew member is aware of them.
- At joining, new crew members shall be informed of these rules during crew familiarisation.
- The Master is responsible for monitoring alcohol consumption on board.
4. Misconduct
Crew members shall behave appropriately at all times on board and ashore during the period of employment. Behaviour must not bring the yacht into disrepute, including through abusive consumption of alcohol and/or any drugs.
5. Testing
Unannounced, random, or post-casualty testing for alcohol or drugs may be carried out when circumstances require.
6. Rules
- No consumption or possession of recreational drugs on board or at any time during employment.
- No alcohol consumption on board, except with the Master’s authorisation.
- Total abstinence from alcohol for 4 hours prior to any scheduled period of responsibility.
