16 - Head of Housekeeping

The Head of Housekeeping has the following duties and responsibilities:

• To learn, understand and apply the Yacht Procedures, ISM, Captain's Standing Orders.
• To participate actively to safety trainings organized by the Chief Officer/Safety Officer.
• Responsible for the cleanliness and general upkeep of all guest cabins, passenger accommodation, public areas and crew areas, including the maintenance of fabric, soft furnishings and materials, and organizing maintenance or specialist care for any defect within the luxury interior.
• Supervise and manage the housekeeping crew assigned to them, allocate daily tasks and cleaning rosters, and ensure that training is given as required.
• Maintain proper stowage and issuance of linen and working stores.
• Provide an efficient laundry service and maintain the laundry in a clean and orderly state, reporting any faults or damage to equipment to the Chief Steward(ess).
• Maintain an inventory of cleaning materials and housekeeping supplies, and ensure adequate stock levels are kept on board.
• Implement and maintain detailed housekeeping standards and checklists for cabin turndown, deep cleaning and guest preparation.
• To receive and follow training provided in food and personal hygiene and food handling and storage, and to support all crew members in adherence to the required standards.
• Ensure the housekeeping team are properly presentable as required by their duties and report to the Chief Steward(ess) any medical condition which could be transmitted to guests.
• Assist all guests in cases of emergency.
• Liaise closely with the Head of Service and the Chief Steward(ess) to ensure a seamless guest experience.
